Rebellion

*Shrill sounds of an alarm pierced the quiet and still dark room, drawing a groan from under the covers that a figure was so contently wrapped under. The ragged and lumpy blankets moved and protested heavily, sagging in defeat when an arm reached out and silenced the alarm. Sitting up, the half toned haired male yawned and stretched, pouting at the time.*

*He hated waking up this early for his shitty job in this crummy city barely making enough to live without having to look for an owner. That was one thing he was never going to do. His ears twitched and he shook his head as he got up from the bed and set to getting ready for work. It was some factory job that employed his kind, with hardly any pay though.*

*Grumbling softly, he pulled his clothes on and shoes on at the door before heading out, ruffling his hair and stroking the fur down on his tail before heading out. He found it hard to find work anywhere else, what with his full breed status and having come from a village of free hybrids of wild animals. People feared they could go feral at any minute, but it was untrue. His kind was treated harsher because of this and had stricter laws in place. He tugged at the collar around his neck, red tag to shoe his status and danger if he went feral.*

*When he got to work, he clocked in and pulled on the protective gear for work and started his shift. It was a recycling plant and he worked in the sorting area, sorting out the different types of containers and getting the mess all over him. He had dreams and aspirations, but he never thought he would end up like this, stuck in this life and unable to go back home. His village was assimilated into the city and left abandoned. At least he had friends at work that weren't afraid of him.*

Hey, Hanbin, we still going for drinks?

'Sure, just don't scare off any good looking guys this time.'

*Laughing at his friends words, he shook his head and smiled. The poor bird hybrid got scared after seeing his collar. He should have expected it, Petroica rodinogaster was usually a flighty type of hybrid.*

I promise I won't scare anyone off, but you know bird types are flighty and scare easily.

I... don't know. I don't have a clear answer, but... I'm not sure.

*Jiwon frowned and moved to hold Bae's hand. It was a tough situation, but he hoped it would be okay, hoped that it was just some kind of stomach bug. The vet returned to the room, a chart in hand.*

There was a higher presence of hormones in the sample, levels that indicated something going on with the body, so we check it out with another test to see if our assumptions were right.

*The doctor looked up to Jiwon and gave him a knowing look. Jiwon told the doctor how he had been feeling after his heat when a nurse came in and handed the doctor the paper work before leaving again. The doctor looked it over before placing the paperwork on the counter beside him.*

Unfortunately I can not prescribe you any more heat medication for a few months or any stronger birth control. The test results came back positive, you're pregnant, Jiwon. I suggest you contact the father and establish how things will follow after that.

*Jiwon was shocked, numb all of a sudden. This couldn't be happening, not now. It was too dangerous now. They would have to leave if they wanted the children to be safe.*

P-pregnant?

Yes. There are panphlets at the desk for you to read as well. For your species, you would have one to three cubs, and if you got pregnant by another species, some may be your genus while the others would be the father's genus.

*Bae froze listening to the doctors words his stomach dropping as the confirmation hit him. He was glad the vet believed he was human so he nodded giving his "pets" hand a tight squeeze.*

Thank you Doctor I will make sure he is well taken care of during this time and help him contact the father. Is there anything I should know as his owner?

*Bae looked at jiwon hiding his own impending break down as he stood up holding out a hand to his pet.*

Come on let's get you home, we can stop on the way and get you a treat if you wish pet.

Just keep plenty of red meat handy. The panphlets are for his genus, so the gestation period and all other information will be there. It's best to let things settle a bit before making another appointment.

*Jiwon just nodded and took Bae's hand, following the elder out. When they paid for the visit and left with the information in hand, the hybrid walked silently next to Bae, holding his hand. He was still shocked and had no idea how Bae even felt about this.*

*Passing a shop, he looked up and noticed something in the window. He stopped and held onto Bae's hand tighter as he saw a television report about another incident that left many wounded and a few dead from another riot at a closer part in the city. It hit home his badly they needed to live, it was right in front of his old apartment building.*

*Looking away from the television, Jiwon moved to hug Bae, seeking comfort from his mate. Everything was becoming too much, too dangerous and he didn't know what to do. Trying to shake those thoughts, Jiwon nuzzles up to Bae and heaved a sigh.*

Can we get some ice cream and go home? I really just want to be at home right now...

*Bae stared at the tv when his mate stopped but didn't register what had happened. Pushing down his emotions again he nodded as he wrapped his arms tightly around his mate holding him close for a few moments.*

Of course pet, later on you might want to call your friend. I'm sure he'll want to hear your exciting news.

*Bae smiled softly at him before he let go and took the boy's hand again leading him down the street to the icecream shop. He was playing protective human knowing he'd break down when they got home.*

*Jiwon nodded as he held Bae's hand while they walked. He ordered a small pint of ice cream, a flavor he favored before he held it in his free hand. They left the store and went home. When they got home, Jiwon didn't feel much like eating. He knew Bae was holding tension.*

I... I'm sorry... I didn't mean for this to happen, I didn't know... it's my fault, I'm sorry... I shouldn't have asked you to spend my heat with me, it was selfish...

*Jiwon could only think to apologize, it felt like it was his fault and he hoped Bae could forgive him for this. He didn't know what to do now, if he should keep them or not. He wasn't sure how this would affect them now either, not with how things were drastically changing and getting closer.*

*When they finally got home Bae starting pacing between their kitchen and living area. He was terrified but also happy having always wanted a family of his own. Hearing his love appologize he stopped pacing his hand resting on the cigarette pack he'd shoved in his pocket that morning. He shook his head moving the hand running it through his hair, he'd have to stop smoking it wasn't good for the pups growing inside his mate.*

It's my fault to I got to caught up in my instincts I didn't take any precautions when we mated. When I knotted you knowing this is why I have it, to keep my seed inside you so it takes hold.

*Things were bad but he wasn't going to force his mate to carry them if he didn't want to. He walked over getting down on his knees in front of where his mate set.*

We have to leave weather you deside to keep them or not....

*Jiwon looked up to Bae and moved to hold his hands. As much as he wasn't ready for this, Jiwon also wanted a family with Bae, but not in this place. He nodded and squeezed the elders hands gently before he took in a deep breath.*

The last riot was in the part of the city where my old apartment was, that's where a lot of hybrids live. We should leave as soon as possible.

*Jiwon moved to wrap his arms around Bae and nuzzled up to the elder with a soft huff. He always felt safe when he was in Bae's arms.*

I want to keep them... I know it might make traveling hard, but I want them to live somewhere without fear.

*He said with a firm nod to himself, trying to convince himself things would work out. Jiwon looked up to Bae and flushed softly, giving the elder a soft kiss.*

Just don't leave me alone to try and find sanctuary without you. Promise me you'll come with us alive.

We will leave first thing in the morning, you need to call your friend and make sure he's ready. Maybe he can spend the night here with us?

*Bae didn't weep for those of their kind that he knew had just been killed, his mind was already working on how to keep his mate, pups and his mate's best friend safe.*

It's possible the resistance has helped those with child before. It will be tricky though.

*Bae returned the kiss smiling wide at his mate. He reached up gently shuffling his hair before he stood up handing the boy his icecream and a spoon.*

I'm sorry dear I need to go make some calls so why don't you eat your icecream?

*Jiwon accepted the spoon from Bae and nodded, opening the small pint and started to eat. While Bae was on the phone, he called his friend and told him the news and the escape they would be making in the morning. Hanbin agreed to stay the night and grabbed his things, making his way to Bae's apartment while they wrapped up their call.*

*His friend had been very excited for him, and he kind of was too, but there was so much going on around him that he wasn't sure what would happen. With a sigh, he finished his ice cream and grabbed a blanket to curl up under on his bean bag chair.*

*When Hanbin arrived, Jiwon let him in and brought him to their living room to cuddle with him for comfort. They were both worried, but his friend stayed strong for him so he wouldn't worry as much.*

*Bae had gone into their bedroom pacing around as he talked in hushed tones to his fellow rebels. With their escape set he hung up and went back out to his mate.

Seeing the two boys he went over sitting infront of them on the floor. He smiled up at them already having a soft spot in his heart for his mate.*

Everything is set we leave before sunrise in the morning, don't worry everything will be okay. I will be with both of you every step of the way.

*he turned towards Hanbin.*

I don't think we've officially met. Call me Taeyang.

Hanbin. I'm glad that Bobby has a good mate taking care of him through all of this. He's stubborn, but he also knows when to keep from trouble.

*The younger laughed as he got a swat from Jiwon befote he reached ovet to rugfle his friends hair. He turned back to Bae and shook his hand firmly with a smile.*

Thanks a lot for everything. I knew you seemed like the good type.

*Jiwon squirmed out of his friends arm and went to climb into Bae's lap, hugging him close. He smiled as he felt better knowing his mate would be making it out safe with him.*

On the way out, I need heavier clothes. If we go north, there should be a place we can stop at to get proper clothes. Do you have family up that way?

[O: do you have another top muse? I was thinking maybe Jonghyun from shinee could be Bae's brother and helping them out, like he's from the village and he doesn't have a mate yet. I didn't know who else you had lol.]

[Pretty much all I have is Bae and Yoongi. I haven't really been into Kpop lately but those two keep dragging me back in. Lol jonghyun works for me though.]

*Bae teased his mate as he shook his friend's hand. He shrugged off the thanks not knowing exactly what jiwon had shared about bae's past.*

Just returning the gift mother gave me since I couldn't save her.

*be tilted his head at his mate moving to lay his head on jiwon's lap. He couldn't hide the amusement in his voice as he spoke.*

Yes dear I've done this before, we can get anything you need and I can hunt for food if I have to. I have some family left don't know really where they are right now, can't really keep in contact while hiding what I am. I promise you jiwon I will protect you, our pups or Cubs and Hanbin.

[I didn't know if you had like, your se7en muse still or if you had a Tablo one lol. I have a Jonghyun muse that I haven't used in a long time and he's been kicking at me lol. Hell even Key or Onew or even Minho would work for him, he just wants attention lol.]

*Jiwon smiled and moved to press a kiss to Bae's cheek before he leaned back against his friend as Bae settled his head in his lap. He was happy to be surrounded by new family.*

Well, I guess we will find out when they're born how many I'll have and what they are.

*He relaxed more, feeling his friend stroke his side before giving a soft yawn himself. It had been a long day and Jiwon was tired from the flurry of emotions he went through. He closed his eyes and let his hands slowly stroke through Bae's hair gently, smiling contently as soft purrs started to form in his chest.*

[Se7en would work in my mind no one who helps the hybrids knows eachothers true identity. Going from that he could be one of he ones helping Bae and his mate get to freedom.]

*Bae closed his eyes relaxing with the fingers in his hair. He knew they still had time to get rested and ready to go. He smiled as jiwon purred he gave his mate enough time to fall asleep before raising his head looking at Hanbin. He looked tired as he spoke to his mate's best friend.*

It's not going to be easy to get where we are going we might have to leave the group if they see me without my disguise on. The natural reaction to my species is fear and distrust which just goes towards making them think I'm really human.

*He swallowed hard taking a moment before continuing on.*

If anything happens to me I want you to look after jiwon...

[:3 That works. Jonghyun will be able to tell who Bae is because of his scent since they're brothers lol.]

*Hanbin frowned, he knew the elder was selfless in his duties and would do anything to protect Jiwon, but he also knew how heartbroken his friend would be if anything happened to Bae. Still, he just nodded and reached up to pet Jiwon's hair and ears gently.*

I promise I will. I just hope nothing does happen to you.

*Jiwon stirred slightly in his slumber, a soft pout on his lips as he shifted towards his mate. Hanbin had been there to protect Jiwon when the other didn't even know it. When they became friends and he knew of what happened to him, he made it his goal to keep his dearest friend safe.*

I just hope one of your family finds you before someone else does, that way you will still be safe with us.

I really hope so too, I've always wanted a family and I have that now.

*Bae smiled softly leaning down to place a soft kiss on jiwon's lips. He didn't want his mate to sleep on the bean bag. Being careful he picked jiwon up in his arms holding him bridal style to carry him to bed.*

Where we are going we all should be safe. I'll figure out away to prove I'm a hybrid.

*he smiled softly at Hanbin.*

I'm going to put him to bed, then i'll show you to the guest room. It's jiwon's personal space but I doubt he'd care if you slept in there for tonight.

*Hanbin nodded and smiled as he watched Bae tuck Jiwon in. The hybrid purred softly and grabbed his pooh plush, hugging it close. He followed the elder to the room mentioned and shrugged before he was allowed inside.*

If not, he'll get over it. And by the way... I think you were just what he needed. He's had a rough life and you've done a lot for him. I can see how he loves you so much.

*Hanbin said goodnight and went into the room to rest as well. It was going to be tough getting out of the city, but if they left in the dark hours of the morning, they could easily slip out of the city unnoticed. It was a hard road ahead of them, but they trusted each other and their abilities to get through this together.*

*Bae bit back the urge to say how much jiwon had helped him. After both hybrids were alseep Bae moved around packing last minute stuff and preparing all the food he knew he could carry for them. It was almost midnight by the time he was done and crawled into bed beside his mate.

Knowing he would only get a few hours sleep he wrapped his arms around jiwon after sending out a whispered prayer to his mother to protect them. He closed his eyes falling asleep instantly curled into his mate.*

*Jiwon stayed snuggled up to Bae after the elder came to bed. He slept peacefully, surprisingly, as his mind filled with anticipation for their escape. Bae's phone ringing woke him up with a groan a few hours later, making him frown and snuggle up to his lover more as he hugged him close.*

Is it time to wake up and get ready?

*He questioned as he cracked opened his eyes and looked over his lover to the offending device. Jiwon had a feeling that after they leave, their phones would be of no use to them. He debates on leaving his own behind as his tail flicks beside him.*

*He would ask Bae, he doubted the villages had electricity or even service or internet there, luxuries they were used to here. He wouldn't be upset, it was like that in his old village, he would just have to get used to it again.*

*Bae groaned as his alarm went off, knowing they had to get up he reached over hitting the screen to turn it off. He placed a soft kiss on jiwon's lips as he opened his eyes.*

Morning babe, do you want to go ahead and shower and I'll wake up Hanbin before I join you.

*he yawned as he sat up and rubbed the sleep out of his eyes. He got up off the bed stretching for a moment before leaving and heading to the extra bedroom. He knocked on the door to wake up Hanbin before opening it up.*

It's time to get ready, the guest bathroom is in there. We leave in 30 minutes

*he informed the boy before heading back to their room shedding his clothes before going into the master bath to join his mate.*

*Jiwon nodded with a groan as he got up and was ushered into the bathroom. He undressed and slipped into the shower as his friend woke up from the morning wake up call and did the same. When Bae slipped in with him, Jiwon turned and wrapped his arms around his mate, giving him a soft kiss.*

I'm going to miss some people here, but this is for the better. Should I leave my phone behind? I doubt we will have use for it where we're going.

*He said as he helped Bae shower since he was mostly finished. The last thing to pack was their toiletries, which they would grab on the way out of the shower. Things would be vastly different in their new life, but it was roots he wanted to reconnect with and felt strongly since he was forced to live in the city.*

You'll teach the cubs/pups how to hunt, yeah? I'm not sure how useful I'll be, but in the summer I might do alright. Do you know what the season is like there now? I wanna be prepared if I have to bundle up on the way.

*Bae returned the kiss happily as he let his mate help him wash. Knowing they didn't have time to fool around he kept his hands to himself.*

I would leave it honestly, I have a phone that will work to call the resistance if we need to.

*He was silent for a moment he didn't want to look to far into the future knowing nothing was guaranteed. However he couldn't bring himself to tell jiwon that.*

Yes i will love. I will hunt for us and teach our young all I can.

*he slipped a hand down resting it on jiwon's stomach.*

I'm sorry but I don't. Honestly where we are going I've never been, the resistance have asurred me it is safe though.

*Jiwon nodded before he moved to hug Bae again before giving him another soft kiss. He reluctantly pulled away and helped Bae finish washing. Reaching to the faucet, he turned the water off and stepped out of the shower.*

We should hurry, not much time left now.

*He said as he dried off and passed a towel to Bae. Jiwon was excited, anxious, scared and worried about everything, his emotions swirling around as he did his best to keep calm. He wasn't hungry, but he knew his mate had food for him as soon as he did get hungry.*

When we stop to stock up on a few things, I want to try and get some of those morning sickness lollipops. It's not too bad right now, but I know the further I am along in the pregnancy, it'll be worse.

I told Hanbin we were leaving in 30.

*Bae told his mate as he quickly dried himself up. He looked around it was bitter sweet leaving his apartment but he knew it was important to get them to safety. He finished drying himself heading out to get dressed. He pulled on a tshirt and a pair of jeans before grabbing an empty bag to take into the bathroom to finish packing.*

We will love, we are going to be in the car for a little bit then we will ditch it and meet up with the rest of the group.

*Jiwon pulled on his clothes and grabbed his pooh plush, leaving his phone to sit on the night stand. He took a good look at the room around him before grabbing his pack and taking it to the living room. Hanbin came out with his own pack and stood next to his contemplative friend, putting an arm around him.*

So it's really happening, huh?

Yeah... I don't know how I feel, I never thought I would see this day.

*He said softly as he looked around the apartment. It was his and Bae's space, their home. He knew it would only be temporary staying here, he was excited to make a real home with his mate and their offspring. Looking to his wrist to the ID bracelets, he took it off and tossed it to the coffee table. He had a collar on with his ID until they got out of the city, but he was ready to ditch that too. His friend was going to do the same, more than ready to leave this life behind.*

We can finally be free.
